Student Financial Aid
Goal: $10,000,000
Raised to Date: $10,135,512
For Saint Joseph's University, excellence is a journey rather than a destination. The financial cost of continuing the journey, however, is rising. One major consequence of higher costs is the growing chasm between those who can afford college and those who cannot. Providing need-based and merit-based financial aid becomes paramount as Saint Joseph's attempts to fulfill its strategic plan, which calls for proclaiming and strengthening the Catholic and Jesuit identity of the University while promoting diversity throughout the institution. Diversity "is the hallmark of our common humanity," states Plan 2010.
Saint Joseph's, with a mission to provide opportunities for a Jesuit education to all segments of society, has seen a rising academic profile for entering classes due to a dramatic increase in the numbers of students applying to the University. Qualified students who deserve to be part of the rich and transformative Saint Joseph's community should not be prevented from attending simply for lack of adequate resources.
Financial aid and scholarships supplement students' tuition dollars and make Saint Joseph's accessible as well as attractive to many. Generous individuals who increase our endowment for student financial aid through With Faith and Strength to Dare: The Campaign for Saint Joseph's University will provide the opportunity for more deserving students to attend and be transformed by the Saint Joseph's educational experience.
