The Maguire Challenge

Already lead donors in Saint Joseph's University's $150 million campaign, With Faith and Strength to Dare, James '58 and Frances Maguire have enhanced their commitment to the Campaign by expanding the gift challenge announced in September 2008.

This commitment from the Maguires took the form of a leadership challenge gift with a goal of raising another $5M through gifts of $100,000 and above, which the Maguires would match with their own gift. In the new challenge, the Maguires have announced that they will now match gifts of $50,000 and above to the Maguire Campus.

The revised challenge provides an opportunity for the University to raise even more support for this historic initiative.

"I'm honored and humbled to have my name permanently affixed to the new Saint Joseph's University Campus,” said Maguire. “The new campus, however, is not about me. It's about enhancing and enriching the educational experience of our students.”

With their latest gift, the Maguire's commitment to the campaign now totals $15 million.
